Jacque Bermejo issue

Every Filipino web user must have already known about some issue that started with just a tiny comment. I must admit, i felt mad too, knowing how a fellow Pinay could make such statement. Its very disappointing.

I am in Singapore and i could tell that the whole world knows how much the Philippines suffered from the very recent tropical storm Ondoy, International news had it even here in Singapore the popularity of the storm tragedies does not go any less with the Famous Formula 1 which just ended last night.

Philippines is a know Christian country, i can still recall when i asked my housemate Jet about this "why Philippines of all places, a country barely striving, poor and economically challenged" and she said "because we are Christians, its just God's test to our faith"..

What i read in facebook just now was an exact opposite. It was like, or it sounds like that we are condemned because we are sinners. I so hate the statements she made in FB, but i reservd my thoughts to myself until i know whats true.

Some people said that she's a victim of Identity Theft, and that her FB account was a fraud, friendster account got stolen, imo, i really dont know. But i wont be like her. I wont judge so easily, as i still dont know what's true. But, i will never ever be able to accept the statements she (or her account hacker) gave. Never. Whoever wrote that is surely a Filipino, she/he must have lacked so much love in life to say that.

http://chikamuna.com/the-case-of-jacque-bermejo.html

I am not in defense of anybody, not for Jacque, imo, but whoever you are that wrote that statement, its so damn easy to find you. Everything in the internet leaves tracks, from where you logged from where and what IP u are when u made that statement.

To my fellow Filipinos, lets leave this for now. Theres so much to do after a day of tragedy. In Real life, for those that suffered bec of Ondoy, for those who truly needs your attention. >> Offline.

PS.
To Jacque /or Jacques hacker : God knows ..

Hamilton Bags the Bacon

Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix just ended today, at this very moment hurray Hamilton won the race :)

Google’s 11th Birthday

11 years is a long time. Some of us may have kids younger than that. Google is still perceived as a young company compared to their rivals like Yahoo and Microsoft.

However, they have had an interesting and very impressive journey in these 11 years.

We wish them well!

Happy Birthday Google :) hurray hurray :))

Race Course

Ticketing Enquiries

1.
Can I just buy a single day pass? When can I do so?

All the Single Day Passes available for Walkabout tickets are now sold out. Only three-day Season Passes are currently available for grandstands. Please call the Ticketing Hotline 67386738 or visit our website www.singaporegp.sg for regular ticket updates.

2.
What is included in the ticket price published on the website?

All ticket prices are inclusive of the prevailing rate of Goods & Services Tax but
exclude the S$2.80 processing fee and the S$10 courier charge.

3.
My tickets were purchased online. What if I cannot collect my tickets personally?

You may appoint someone else to collect on your behalf. Please present Letter of Authorization. Please click here to view.

4.
I found another website selling 2009 FORMULA 1™ SingTel Singapore Grand Prix tickets - is it authentic?

Consumers should exercise due diligence when purchasing their tickets by ensuring they are buying from an authorised agent. A list of authorised agents is available on www.singaporegp.sg. Never buy tickets from a website or company that is not listed.

5.
I saw a lower price on another website. Are the tickets valid?

For a full listing of authorized sales channels please refer to www.singaporegp.sg. If you see lower prices these tickets may be counterfeit or unauthorised. Tickets sold by Singapore GP and their authorised resellers are never discounted. Any tickets obtained from unauthorised sources shall be void.

6.
Are the tickets transferable?

Three-day tickets are transferable on different race days. Three different people may use the three-day ticket on three separate days. However tickets cannot be used by more than one person on the same day.

7.
May I choose seats from the seating plans within a grandstand? If not, why?

You may choose your preferred grandstand and block but not the individual seats within that grandstand. The computerised ticketing system allocates seats on a best available basis at the time of purchase. This means, that when you buy the tickets, you will get the best seats available at that point of time.

8.
When is the latest that I will receive my tickets?

As it is now less than 7 days to the race, tickets must be self-collected from the Ticketing Office located on ground floor of Suntec Convention Centre from Monday 21st Sept to 27th Sep 2009.

9.
How do I get to Suntec Convention Centre to collect my tickets?

Please visit www.suntecsingapore.com/geninfo/locationmap.htm for directions to Suntec Convention Centre. Our collection centre is located on the ground floor concourse.

10.
Can I collect my tickets from the Ticket Box Office outside the Circuit Park Gates?

No, tickets can only be collected from our Collection Centre at Suntec Convention Centre from Monday 21st to Sunday 27th September 2009. Please see (9) above for directions to Suntec Convention Centre.

11.
Will you be offering concession tickets for youths and seniors as you did last year?

Instead of limiting the availability of concessionary tickets to a small group of people, for 2009 we have offered lower prices in most categories in our early bird release, with savings of about 7% to 17% compared with last year’s prices. In fact, at S$28, we have introduced our lowest price ever this year for the Friday Single-Day Walkabout Pass.

12.
Will I be able to see the race clearly, without any obstruction, with my walkabout tickets?

Spectators in the walkabout areas can in some cases get closer to the cars than the spectators in grandstand seats, as walkabout spectators are standing about 3 or 4 metres away from the edge of the track.

The concrete and triple guardrail that makes up the lower portion of the barrier is only a metre tall. The rest of the protection consists of a steel wire mesh fence that you can see through clearly.

To ensure that spectators get a great view of the race, there will be a number of bleachers located along some of the prime trackside viewing locations around the walkabout areas. However we cannot guarantee completely unobstructed views from all locations due the nature of a street circuit.

13.
Where can I buy tickets?

During the week of race, tickets will be on sale at the following locations:

(i) From Monday 21st to Sunday 27th Sept 2009, 9am to 10pm at Suntec Convention Centre Ground Floor

(ii) From Friday 25th to Sunday 27th Sept 2009, 2pm to 10pm at the Ticket Box Office outside Circuit Park Gates 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7.

Please note that a number of ticket categories are sold out. Check the website www.singaporegp.sg or call 67386738 for information on ticket availability.

14.
Is there a limit to how many tickets I can purchase?

Each person can buy up to 4 single-day Walkabout passes per transaction. This is to ensure that the race is available to as wide an audience as possible. The rest of the Grandstands seats, as well as Walkabout Season passes, are capped at 10 tickets per transaction.

15.
What if there is heavy rain during the race? Will I get a refund?

In the event of inclement weather on any or all of the days of the race, the event organiser shall have the sole and absolute discretion to delay the race for that day, and if necessary, to cancel the race. The race may resume on the same day after such delay. Refunds will not be offered due to cancellation that is for reasons beyond the event organiser's control.

16.
Are the Grandstands Covered?

All Grandstands are non-weatherproof and open to the elements. Patrons are advised to bring suitable clothing for protection from the weather. Singapore GP ponchos (that are bundled with earplugs) are available for sale at the merchandising booths for only SGD$2. Profits on the sale will be donated to charity.

17.
I did not receive my tickets within the dates specified in the email confirmation. What should I do?

If you have not collected your tickets on the designated dates from SingPost, you would have received several email notification and reminders advising you of ticket collection details. Please visit the Ticketing Office at Suntec Convention Centre Ground Floor from Monday 21st to Sunday 27th Sept 2009.

18.
I have lost/misplaced my tickets. How can I get a replacement?

You must report loss of your ticket at any of the police posts. Then present the Police Report to our staff at the Ticket Box Offices at the Circuit Park. The tickets will only be replaced if you are able to show proof of ownership as well as advise us of the unique ticket serial numbers found at the bottom of the barcode. There will be a replacement fee of $20 per ticket payable before tickets are re-issued.

After a whole month of fasting, the Muslim community in Malaysia celebrates ‘Hari Raya' with joyous family gatherings and open houses. Join in the merry-making and taste the delicious traditional Malay favourites such as rendang and ketupat.

What a day i had today :O so cool, and to end my day i was able to chat with my friend Apai who is a Malaysian and he said that he still would go out because he's still has the hari raya spirit kekeke, they go houses and eat, and its sooo fun.

A Toa Payoh Weekend

Thank God its Friday!

Lol. Days passes by so fast i'm still drooling on my keyboard for a better paying job. My friend asked a girl's night out today but i refused as i was feeling lazy to go out and i just wanna do house chores. So i had the washing machine programmed to wash, rinse and spin in one go and cooked a portion of luncheon meet, heat the water for drinking and put all things in place by the living room.

In an extremely short while i was done lol and the boredom is creeping me again like a nightmare. Finally i decided to go out and do the grocery. From the flat i took a bus and went stright ahead Toa Payoh Central. Fair Price Supermart ftw.

Job Hunt in Singapore

A lot of Filipinos are up for working abroad . Proven true - Filipinos are everywhere. That's why even if it is dangerous and even if there's no assurance, Filipinos would often resort to taking chances. Equipped with undying hope, self belief and eternal faith in prayers, we Filipinos would never give up on a few obstacles, money, weather, health and even recession.
Singapore being an open country is one of the hot spot for Pinoy overseas job hunt. Everyday thousand of Filipinos hope to get employed before their tourist past lapses.

What to remember when hunting jobs in Singapore :)

1. Know what you're looking for.
It's a common practice amongs most employers to hire people depending on the degree they had or the line of work applicant's had been. Employers know the concept of overqualification and if they believe that their job requirement do not fit your professional experience, you will get rejected. Before you start sending your resume to some random websites, first and foremost, know your specialization.

2. Know Where to look at.
Know the sites that provides goodjob postings, a few are www. jobstreet.com.sg , www. jobsdb.com.sg, www.st701.com, www. job-q.com, jobscentral.com, there are also online forums that has classified ads section like www.pinoysg.com. It is also important to take note to grab a copy of StraitTimes an english newspaper during Wednesdays and Saturdays because those are the days when most jobs are posted.

2. Dress Up.
If you ever you get invited for an interview, come early, never ever let your interviewer wait for you. Dress properly, do not show too much skin, cleavage, knees, Singaporeans dress really freely but remember that when you are asked for an appearance, you are expected to behave and dress with utmost professionalism, to dont overdo your make up but put a little or some thats just enough to make it look like you prepared for that interview. Aside from dressing up yourself, dress up your esume too, and make sure you are equipped with knowledge about the skills they are looking for.

3. Take caution.
There are many agencies in Singapore asking you money for registration, even only on initial interview, some would ask a fee, after a few meetings you will soon find out that you are not hired and theres really no job hiring on that and you cannot refund your money. Since you are a foreigner looking for a job under a tourist pass, telling authorities will not do you much good for yourself. You will be tied up with more obligations because you are bounded by a pass for visistors only and thus should not engage with business etc, Unless ofcourse you hold a relevant employment pass which they called EPEC.

4. Pray.
This is perhaps the only thing common amongst all Filipinos looking for a better future offshore. Everyone keeps a strong faith in God for his Loving will and grace.

To All jobhunters, goodluck :)

My First Day Out

Its not actually my first time left alone in a place i hadn't been before, but today was the first time i travelled planning an entire journey from home to my destination and going back home. With the aid of a few websites, travelling alone was a fun and a stress free adventure.A few clicks on the net, and dyaran!!!.. everything is set for my journey, instructions where to ride and alight and what to look for. Singapore is truly a visitor-friendly city.

My goal : To get to Funan for a pair of cheap Headsets..

My Online Guide number 1 :
www.sbstransit.com.sg
SBS Transit owns 75% of the scheduled bus market share in Singapore with 250 bus services and has a total fleet of close to 3,000 buses. 96% of our buses are equipped with air-condition. Types of bus services provided include trunk services, feeder services, Express services, Townlink services, Jurong industrial services as well as special bus services like Premium, Nite Owl, Chinatown Direct, Fast Forward, Stadium Direct and Parks.

My Online Guide number 2 :
www.smrt.com.sg

SMRT is probably the best i enjoy in Singapore, travelling underground on a train was fast and it dont each much of your time waiting at bus stops for your specific bus number. At present there are 3 lines of operation in Singapore, the Red, Green, Purple Lanes, and the one still under construction, the Yellow Lane. MRT is so efficient it covers almost all major roads and business areas.

My Online Guide number 3 :
www.streetdirectory.com

Streetdirectory.Com is an online map of the entire city of Singapore and it works even better than google maps. using this alone you will be able to get to where you wanna go . Just select Direction from the menu at the top and it will give you the things you need will need to know. It has a menu also for car drivers, bus riders and mrt travellers or both. Zooming the map will give the details of the street, names of malls, even the shortest alleys and underground passes.

What You need to Bring :

1. EZ Link Card - All major transportation means in Singapore uses EZlink. Buy EZlink card in any MRT station, Top it up and you are ready to go, to use the EZ link card, just "tap" it on the receiver upon boarding and upon alighting MRT or the bus. Should you decide to go for cab service, there are alot different ways to pay.

2. Cash - Bring extra cash, specially 1 dollar coin because you need it to ride the bus if you dont have EZlink card. Most specially you need cash for whatelse? Shopping!

Singapore is most probably the best place to buy electronics and computer gadgets. The latest models are available on a low price and there are plenty of shops to visit. The topmost floor hosts a bigger store that has the full spectrum of gadgets.

chic isnt it? thats my favorite amongst those i saw in one store where my headset was bought, LCD as big as the telie in my house.

Any computing and PDA related item can be found in Funan IT Mall that has five floors of shops specialising to computers, both hardware and software.

Capitol. I lost my way and walked by foot because i went out to Raffles City rather then St. Andrews Cathedral Exit.

ION Orchard. On my way home. I stopped at Orchard Station for Lucky Plaza for my UFC ketchup!
