Gamja! Gamja! Garlic Potato

While waiting for my BF to fetch me,I strolled at the basement of Robinson's Galleria in search for a nice finger food. I thought of going for donuts or potato corner but before i reach their booths, i found this new shop located just exactly right infront of the Supermarket.

It smelled very enticing so i told myself why not give it a try :)

Gamja! Gamja!

Gamja is a Korean term for 'potato'. It is derived from the Korean side dish called Gamja Jarim. However despite being Korean in Nature, Gamja!Gamja! is not too spicy, there's a slight kick and due to it having garlic, but its just very mild, it is very calming. Gamja Gamja's taste is adjusted to Filipino taste not being too spicy, a little sweet and flavorful due to the combination of corn syrup, and a little bit salty due to the soy sauce.. Its a little bit sticky but the potatoes are also a little bit crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside.(in my opinion it is nicer to include the peel)

Gamja!Gamja! is available in three different sizes: Potpot- PhP39, Jaja PhP49 and Garlee size PhP59.

Heres a little sample recipe

Ingredients

2 potatoes, peeled and cut (not too big)

onion, sliced

1 tbsp red pepper paste

1 tsp red chili powder(optional)

2 cloves of garlic, crushed (adjust amt depends on your love for garlic)

1 carrot thinly sliced (optional)

1 tsp soy sauce

1 tsp sugar

1 tsp corn syrup or honey

sesame seeds for garnish

Cooking Instructions:

1. Stir fry the potatoes and onions in oil. Its nicer when its browned and a little crispy on the corners
2. Add the pepper paste, chili powder, garlic, soy sauce, sugar, corn syrup, and a little water.
3. Cover and turn down the heat.
4. Cook until the potatoes are tender.
5. Serve with sesame seeds and carrot as garnish.

Coca-Cola is 125 yrs old now. This brings something good. Free Can Glasses from McDonalds (well ofcourse, when you buy a meal) Here in the Philippines i believe its a few Pesos after some Meal..

Coca-Cola, the world's largest beverage company, and McDonalds Corp, have once again collaborated to bring excitement to consumers in Asia- Pacific by offering a series of coloured Coca-Cola can glasses. Coca- Cola Fans will be able to collect the can glasses in six colours (Green, Pink, Lime, Purple, Blue, Charcoal) at McDonald'ds Restaurant. The said can glasses was initially released in the Gulf area somewhat 2009 and was available only in two colors. Green and White. The release was indeed a success.

Coca-Cola is excited to offer once again these glasses in celebration of Coca-Cola's 125th anniversary. McDonalds which has been partner with Coca-Cola since 1955 is offering consumers for a limited time to collect six colors of the can glasses collection.
The glasses will be available in 13 markets namely, Singapore, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Hongkong, Macau, Philippines, Malaysia, Pakistan, Tahiti, Fiji and New Caledonia.

Rick Riordan is the award-winning, bestselling author of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and the creator of a new series The 39 Clues. For Rick Riordan (pronounced Ryer'-dan), a bedtime story shared with his oldest son was just the beginning of his journey into the world of children's books.

Already an award-winning author of mysteries for adults, Riordan, a former teacher, was asked by his son Haley to tell him some bedtime stories about the gods and heroes in Greek mythology. "I had taught Greek myths for many years at the middle school level, so I was glad to comply," says Riordan. "When I ran out of myths, (Haley) was disappointed and asked me if I could make up something new with the same characters."

At the time, Haley had just been diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia. Greek mythology was one of the only subjects that interested the then second-grader in school. Motivated by Haley's request, Riordan quickly came up with the character of Percy Jackson and told Haley all about "(Percy's) quest to recover Zeus's lightning bolt in modern-day America," says Riordan. "It took about three nights to tell the whole story, and when I was done, Haley told me I should write it out as a book."

I got really crazy with Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson Series. I bought books, researched online, did reviews, saw the movies, relearned mythologies ..I swear i always curse Percy Jackson for always lacking sleep and being mentally absent at most times. I cant stop myself until i read the last book. I am really hoping that Rick Riordan would make some kind of sequel to continue it. I don't know how but i wish it is possible.
